The Cybersecurity career field is in desperate need for more people. Not enough qualified people apply. But also, some people who are qualified DO NOT KNOW they are qualified. You need to put your IT security experience on your resume. Cybersecurity is not just hacking or pentests. It is also things like vulnerability management, updating operating systems, updating virus signatures, reading system logs, conducting training, writing IT documents for the organization, making sure systems are compliant with regulations and many other tasks that you have done. You just have to put it on your resume.
